On March 26, 2024, Binh Duong Customs Department, in partnership with Tan Cang Express Joint Stock Company (TCE), hosted a conference introducing Off – Airport Cargo Terminal at the department’s headquarters. The event gathered approximately 150 import-export (IPE) and logistics enterprises across the province.
Conference overview
At the conference, Binh Duong Customs Department provided information on the organization of cargo transportation through extended cargo warehouses. This model operates similarly to an airport cargo terminal, incorporating security screening, cargo weighing, and customs procedures. The use of extended cargo warehouses is expected to reduce customs clearance times, accelerate international cargo transportation, and alleviate congestion at airports.
Mr. Bui Van Bang, Deputy Director of Tan Cang Logistics Joint Stock Company (KVTC), emphasized that import and export via extended air cargo warehouses will help businesses save time and costs when transporting goods to airports, facilitate collection and packaging, and expedite security screening and customs procedures.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of Binh Duong Customs Department, highlighted that the growth of import-export services through postal networks, express delivery, and extended air cargo warehouses presents an opportunity for e-commerce development, diversifies import-export activities, and contributes to the establishment of Binh Duong as a major logistics hub.
The conference also served as a platform for businesses involved in air import-export, bonded warehouse operations, and high-tech trade to explore new opportunities. The development of extended air cargo warehouses is expected to enhance supply chain stability, improve logistics efficiency, and drive economic growth in Binh Duong province.
